It promises to be one Heck of a Thanksgiving dinner when ABC’s ‘The Middle‘ invites ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum Norm Macdonald over for the holiday.

Macdonald will guest-star on the sophomore comedy’s Turkey Day-themed outing as Mike’s brother, Rusty.

In the same episode, John Cullum (‘Northern Exposure’) will reprise his role as grandpa “Big Mike,” whom viewers first met during Season 1.

New On DVD: ‘The Middle,’ ‘Brothers & Sisters’ and More

The reason for this reunion? Frankie (played by Patricia Heaton) has Rusty and Big Mike over as part of a plan to force her husband (Neil Flynn) to better express his feelings toward his dad and brother.

Yeah… Why do I have a feeling that reads better on paper than in practice?
