Want more of the 1980s cult TV hit, ‘Beauty and the Beast’?

Take action into your hands, says one of its stars.

“Write your Congressman,” Ron Perlman, who played Vincent on the three-season CBS show costarring Linda Hamilton, joked to Fancast Monday about plans for a comeback of the show. “Not that I know of,” he said.

“One part Gothic romance, one part crime busters-in-action, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ was nobody’s idea of a sure thing when it had its premiere in September 1987 on CBS,” the New York Times wrote in 1988. “And, surprise, CBS had a hit.”

‘Beauty’ went off the air in 1990 after 56 episodes during an abbreviated third season when Hamilton announced her intention to leave the show.

A fan petition helped keep the show on during its third season. But it certainly didn’t have the widespread awareness of, say, a Betty White ‘Saturday Night Live’ Facebook petition. All three seasons are available on DVD.

Perlman, who currently stars on FX’s ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ entering its third season Sept. 7, also dismissed plans for a third ‘Hellboy’ feature – the $260 million-plus global franchise.

Perlman told reporters in August “f*** ‘em” in response to ‘Sons of Anarchy’ being left off the Emmy nominations despite its warm critical and commercial response. He said Monday that he has never seen TV’s biggest night.

Ever.

“I have never watched the Emmys,” Perlman, 60, told Fancast. “I just don’t know enough about television. I watch sports, ’40s movies, and MSNBC. So, the Emmys are completely foreign to me. I don’t know the names of any shows, and who is on them. I’m not invested in that world.”
