Comcast On Demand today premieres three movies you’re going to want to check out. First up, there’s J.Lo’s artificial insemination rom-com The Back-Up Plan. There’s also Andy Garcia’s independent dysfunctional family comedy City Island, and the real-life drama about a man who pulled out all the stops to try to find a way to keep his ailing children alive in Extraordinary Measures, starring Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford. Take a closer look at each of these films below.
The Back-Up Plan
Jennifer Lopez has given up on trying to find the right guy for her and gone ahead and had herself artificially inseminated so she can become a mother like she’s always wanted. Then, wouldn’t you know it, she meets Alex O’Loughlin, the right guy for her! How’s she going to explain to him that she’s pregnant without scaring him away?
Brendan Fraser and Keri Russell star in this true story about parents who start a venture capital business in the desperate search to find a way to save his children from the ravages of a terminal disease. Harrison Ford is the eccentric scientist whose innovative work may just hold they key to their survival.
Andy Garcia is the patriarch of a family on an isolated suburban island off of Manhattan who works as a prison guard, living with his dissatisfied wife (Julianna Margulies) and his snarky fetishist son (Ezra Miller), while his daughter (Dominik Garcia-Lorido) tells them she’s in college when she’s actually working as a stripper. When he starts to secretly take an acting class with Emily Mortimer and Alan Arkin, and then brings home his secret illegitimate son (Steven Strait) from prison, misunderstandings pile up quickly until he is forced to confront all their little white lies.
