Outspoken former supermodel Janice Dickinson is weighing in on the controversy surrounding Tyra Banks and that super-skinny ‘America’s Next Top Model‘ contestant.

Banks fired Dickinson as a judge on ‘ANTM’ back in 2005, so it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that Dickinson isn’t wasting any time getting in on the criticism that’s been leveled at her former boss this week. Banks got blasted in the media for appearing to condone a prospective ‘Top Model’s outrageously thin look.

The dust-up began with a promo spot for the upcoming 15th cycle of ‘ANTM’ that featured a 19-year-old contestant from Dallas, who is 6′ 2″ and whose waist is so small that ‘ANTM’ judge ‘Miss’ J. Alexander’s fingers touched when he wrapped his hands around her waist.

Tyra was then seen praising the young woman. “You have the smallest waist in the world! Look at that waist!” Tyra enthused. “There’s something about her that I like!”

Ever since, critics have hammered Banks’ praise for seeming to send the wrong message to girls and young women that they have to be ultra-skinny to be beautiful. Tyra then issued an apology, reaffirming her position on healthy body images and implying that the teaser clip was produced and aired without her knowledge.

And that’s where Dickinson begs to differ. In an interview with ‘Access Hollywood,’ Dickinson said flat out she doesn’t believe a word of Tyra’s apology.

“[Ex]cuse me, but Tyra is the executive producer of that show,” raged Dickinson, in an interview with Shaun Robinson. “She has her finger on everything. No, I don’t believe it.”

“You don’t buy her apology?” asked Robinson.

“What? Please!” Dickinson replied.

“I’m here to say that Tyra Banks has her finger on everything,” she added. “It’s her show. She’s very controlling. She’s the hardest working woman on that show. She has her finger on that pulse – trust me…. Everything they shoot is intentional. Don’t tell me different. I did it for five seasons. Snap!”

What’s Dickinson’s problem? Ever since appearing on ‘ANTM,’ she’s become a reality-TV fixture in her own right with a season on ‘The Surreal Life‘ on VH1 and four seasons on her own show, ‘The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency‘ on Oxygen.

Is Dickinson taking off on Tyra just because she’s got an axe to grind? Or do you think Dickinson knows what she’s talking about? Whose side are you on – Tyra’s or Janice’s?
