OK, technically it’s an ‘Undercover Bosscompanion series, but “spin-off” makes for a sexier headline.

All such semantics issues aside, CBS has ordered a pilot for an ‘Boss’-inspired corporate reality show that would follow two employees at one company bucking for the same promotion.

One of ‘em is probably that pederast Hanrahan.*

New ‘Undercover Boss’ Missions Include NASCAR, DirecTV

The as-yet-untitled series is being produced by the ‘Boss’ bosses, and would involve similar “inside the corporate culture” elements yet work without any “undercover” pretense, says the Hollywood Reporter.

That CBS would look to spin off – I’m sorry, “companion off” – ‘Undercover Boss’ is no surprise. Thanks in part to a primo post-Super Bowl launching pad, the show emerged as last season’s highest-rated new series.
