If Mary Murphy and her Twitter followers have anything to do with it, she’ll be back at the judges’ table on next season of ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’

When asked if host Cat Deeley was onto something when said in interviews this week that Mary Murphy could be back next season, Murphy told reporters after guest-judging on last night’s ‘SYTYCD’ finale that she “hopes so.”

“You’re going to have to talk to Nigel [Lythgoe, executive producer] about that. Didn’t I look happy out there? I’m always happy out there,” she squealed, following sitting at the judges’ table for the Thursday night finale. “If I come back on the show it’s definitely a tribute to my fans because I know they’ve been writing in. Nigel’s Twitter at Dizzy Feet and they’ve been going crazy on it and he called me and said, ‘Tell them to stop that damn hot tamale train!’”

So, ask executive producer Nigel Lythgoe we did. His response? “It’s far to early to mention any changes about anything at the moment.” As for Mia Michaels, she said, “If they ask me to come back, I will.”

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Crowns A New Winner

Had Murphy been on the panel this season, she says she would’ve disagreed with the judges on tap dancer Melinda’s salsa performance, which she said she would’ve “put her on the hot tamale train. I loved her so much!”

As for Lauren’s win, Murphy said, “Lauren absolutely deserved it. I think everybody that I talked to on my Twitter is going to be happy with Lauren.”

Oh, and in case we didn’t get it the first time, when asked what changes she would like to see on season eight of ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ she said, “That Mary Murphy was on the panel!” And, with that, she walked away laughing her signature cackle, er, laugh.
