Trying to count the number of on-air personalities that have joked about Sarah Palin would be a difficult task, but when it’s the network news anchor that publicly irked the former Alaskan governor, the Internet is sure to go abuzz.

Such is the case today on the Huffington Post, as a leaked video of ‘CBS Evening News‘ anchor Katie Couric has surfaced showing the journalist mocking the names of Palin’s kids.

The off-the-cuff remarks came during the 2008 Republican National Convention, with Couric laughing about the names Trig and Track while she rehearsed for a voice-over.

“Where the hell do they get these names?” Couric joked to her off-camera crew.

The video surfaced online and appears to be raw footage of the journalist taping an on-camera news tease and a voice-over for that evening’s newscast.

What makes the video of interest is that shortly after this joking around, Couric conducted the now infamous Palin interview during which the Vice Presidential hopeful was flummoxed when asked what publications she reads.
