Wanna know what’s coming up on your favorite show? Tuesday is tease-day at Fancast, and MattMtvguy@gmail.com is the place to send your questions. Here now the scoop!
I’m craving info about ‘NCIS‘! – Alice
Expect two blasts from the past after the new season gets underway on September 21. “We’ve got a few old scores to settle – primarily with Ziva’s dad, Eli David, played by the brilliant Michael Nouri,” Rocky Carroll (aka Vance) tells me. “And we’re also going to have a visit from Mr. Robert Wagner, who plays DiNozzo’s father. So look forward to that.”
How did Shane Brennan react to you telling him that you hope “Pa Walton” isn’t dead? – JetGibbs via Twitter
The ‘NCIS’ boss thought for a long moment about my concern for Ralph Waite‘s character, who was placed in jeopardy in the season finale. Ultimately, he offered this and only this: “Gibbs is his father’s son.” Thoughts?
Could you ask the ‘Smallville‘ producers about Clois from Clark’s POV? – ginnytwin via Twitter
I hand-delivered your question to Brian Peterson, who noted that now that Lois knows who The Blur is, “For the first time Clark doesn’t know everything; Lois has the secret. So that dynamic will flip everything in that relationship, and it really brings those personal feelings to life.” Kelly Souders echoed that sentiment, saying, “All those scenes we’ve seen Clark play over the years – going all the way back to Lana – literally get flipped.” Flippin’ cool!
Did you ask the ‘Smallville’ producers about Allison Mack‘s exit storyline? – Celine
Ha, trick question – Chloe isn’t getting an exit storyline. “Allison created this character, brought her to life, and wants to make sure she has a part in the final season. So she’s not really being written off,” says Kelly Souders. After taking some time off early in the season to do a play, “Allison comes back and has a really strong storyline, and I think fans will be very happy with it. They will not have seen the last of Chloe Sullivan.”
I’d love to know if you talked to anyone on the ‘Glee‘ cast during TCA week – especially Matt Morrison or Jayma Mays. – kentuckybelle via Twitter
I talked to gobs of Gleeks, but let’s start with this: I asked Jayma how serious Emma will be with her dentist beau (played by John Stamos) when Season 2 picks up. “I think she and Carl are probably a good ways into the relationship,” she ventured. Wait, I’m sorry – Stamos is playing a Carl?! Doesn’t sound right. “He will make you believe he’s a Carl,” Matt Morrison assured me.
I’ll take any info you have on ‘Glee’s Quinn/Puck. – Amanda
Last night on the Fox All-Star Party red carpet, Mark Salling hinted to me that even with the baby drama behind them, Puck isn’t necessarily done pursing Quinn. Is that what you were looking for?
Got any ‘Chuck‘ scoop? – Bruce
I share this with a heavy sigh, Bruce: Sarah’s Orange Orange uniform appears to be a goner. “I don’t know if Sarah’s going to have a cover this season, now that everyone knows she is a spy now,” Yvonne Strahovski tells me. “There isn’t any need for it.”
This season on ‘Private Practice,’ might we find out why Sam quit cardiology? – Dani
As you saw on my Twitter feed, I ran a slew of reader questions by Taye Diggs and Kate Walsh on Sunday. Not only was this was one of them, but Kate deemed yours a “Good question! ” Added Taye, “Someone’s been watching, and listening.” Oh, the answer: “Yes, you will,” Diggs dished. “That is one question I can definitely answer.” (Coming soon to Fancast: the video of Kate and Taye answering more than 10 reader Qs!)
Is ‘Life Unexpected‘ going to pull a ‘Pretty Little Liars‘ and have Lux hook up with the new teacher? – Deb
Maybe. Maybe not. The new educator, played by ‘Melrose Place’s Shaun Sipos, “ends up tutoring [Lux],” says the supercool Britt Robertson, “and of course she finds him attractive. But whether anything will come out of that, only [series creator] Liz [Tigelaar] knows!”
I read that ‘Modern Family‘ will have an episode featuring Mitchell’s (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) high school girlfriend. Has she been cast yet? – Emily
I checked in with ‘Family’ boss Steve Levitan just the other night, and Mitchell’s ex has yet to be cast. But within that storyline, Levitan promised “a great twist.” Hmmm.
The first two episodes of ‘My Boys‘ have been pretty good this season, but Jim Gaffigan‘s Andy is really missed. Is there a chance he’ll appear later this season? – Sarah
I checked in with a TBS rep and the answer is… no.
Thank you for the Q&A with ‘CSI: Miami‘s Adam Rodriguez – but I’m confused: What happened to Eddie Cibrian‘s character? – Greg
In the October 3 season opener, it will be revealed that Cibrian’s Jesse Cardoza has been (gulp) murdered. Says A-Rod, “He was killed by a guy we’ve been after for a little while.” Bright side: Eddie bounced back with a gig on NBC’s ‘Chase.’
Hi, Matt! I would love all the scoop on my guilty pleasure, ‘Gossip Girl.’ – Amy
All the scoop? Here’s what I heard from lovely EP Stephanie Savage: “Georgina’s baby is Georgina’s baby; it’s not Dorota’s” (as some have speculated); ‘Melrose’ alum Katie Cassidy‘s character will “cause a lot of problems for Serena and Blair”; and Chuck may be alive but “we’ll discover that he maybe did not get the best medical care possible when he was found in the alley.” Speaking of Mr. Bass, his new flame Eva (played by French actress Clémence Poésy) is described as “extremely likable… a little bit of an innocent who gets schooled hard” when she hits NYC – likely at the hands of Blair.
I’m glad the ‘Rockford Files’ reboot isn’t dead! I wasn’t crazy about Dermot Mulroney in the lead role. – markymarc70 via Twitter
Yeah, apparently neither was NBC. Know that I did my best to plant a bug in NBC exec Angela Bromstad’s ear when I saw her at a TCA week party. “Josh Holloway (‘Lost’) is Jim Rockford,” I told her. She very much liked the suggestion.
‘NCIS: LA‘s Kensi is surrounded by guys. Will we see anything romantic with her and one of the male agents? I’m rooting for her & Callen (Chris O’Donnell)! – Laura
Sorry, but you’re backing the wrong horse. Kensi is being partnered professionally with Eric Christian Olsen‘s Marty Deeks, who is now officially a Ziva-like liaison. As they work cases, Daniela Ruah tells me, “A lot of questions are raised. ‘Is there chemistry or is there not? Do they like each other do they not?’ So we’ll see.”
Do you have any scoop on ‘Friday Night Lights‘ Season 5? – Poupa
I asked Adrianne Palicki – who is confirmed to return as Tyra for the season’s/series’ final two episodes – just how much Kleenex she advises viewers to keep on hand for The End. “It’s pretty emotional,” she affirmed. “The fact that they brought back most of the original cast was really, really special.” On the personal front, “It was really emotional to say goodbye to that chapter of my life.” Palicki now stars on Fox’s ‘Lone Star’ (airing Mondays at 9/8c this fall).
I heard ‘Human Target‘ is bringing in a woman as a supervisor to Chance, Winston and Guerrero. How will this be explained? Chance was more or less a free agent. – Gina
I had the same Q and ran it by Mark Valley. Explaining the arrival of Indira Varma‘s character, he said, “We have more or less gone broke, and that puts a hindrance on things. So we’re really in need of an infusion if the group is to stay together.” But what’s in it for her? “She probably has a humanitarian agenda herself,” Valley ventures, “and likes the idea that she can get things done with us.”
