Available on Comcast On Demand this week are a pair of films, one set in an alternate past and another in an alternate future. The shining swords-and-sandals epic Clash of the Titans brings us battles of the ancient gods and monsters, while the dark future world of Repo Men gives us a look at the ugly potential of the for-profit medical industry. Take a closer look at these films below.
Clash of the Titans
Sam Worthington stars as Perseus, a long-forgotten son of Zeus (Liam Neeson) and a mortal woman, torn between the worlds of man and god. Angry at the lord of the underworld Hades (Ralph Fiennes) for slaying his family, Perseus takes sides with the human rebellion and, thanks to the guidance of Io (Gemma Arterton), he goes on a quest to find the key to defeating the unholy monster known as the Kraken, the ultimate weapon of the gods.
Jude Law and Forest Whitaker are Remy and Jake, goons hired to repossess internal organs when the people who had them transplanted default on paying their medical bills. However, when Remy needs a heart transplant himself, the tables start to turn when he can’t afford the payments, and Jake is the man who has to come after him.
