Hot on the heels of Marvel Studios’ big panel at Comic-Con announcing that Jeremy Renner has joined the premiere superhero team as the cocky archer Hawkeye, that Mark Ruffalo will be stepping into the purple pants of the Incredible Hulk and that nerd hero Joss Whedon will officially be directing The Avengers film comes news of more additions to the mighty cast. As has long been rumored, Eva Longoria looks set to suit up as the size-changing fashionista hero the Wasp, while Whedon’s favorite go-to guy Nathan Fillion is in line to step in alongside her as her husband, the super-scientist known as Ant-Man.

It’s not technically official yet and Marvel’s denied it so far, but then again, Whedon had to announce the official confirmation of his involvement himself at Comic-Con after months of speculation, joking that apparently “Marvel couldn’t afford a press release.” The word is they are in final negotiations with Longoria, and if Whedon at the helm means Fillion should be a shoo-in.

This makes for an amazing lineup for this fanboy-dream project, as these two will be joining Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, the captain of this ship.
