The Shirley Sherrod saga continues to fill countless hours on the news networks as further political figures voice their opinion on the matter, the latest being Howard Dean during a ‘Fox News Sunday‘ appearance.

Not only did former governor Dean call out Fox News as being “absolutely racist” in its decision to air the highly controversial Sherrod video clip, but he took aim at the entire Republican Party, reports the Huffington Post.

“The Tea Party called out their racist fringe and I think the Republican Party’s got to stop appealing to its racist fringe,” Dean told host Chris Wallace. “Fox News did something that was absolutely racist. They had an obligation to find out what was really in the clip.”

Not one to be bullied by a left wing figurehead, Senior VP of Fox News countered Dean’s comments with an equally biting statement. “As we said this past week, some people such as the failed candidate Dean reflexively blame Fox for almost anything.”

As was previously reported, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly already admitted that they made a mistake in not watching the entire video of Sherrod before playing the clip that ultimately resulted in her being fired from the USDA.
