Patton succeeds ‘SVU’ vet Stephanie March, whose Alexandra Cabot won’t be returning in the fall, and guest star Sharon Stone’s Jo Marlowe.
Making her debut in the coming season’s fifth episode, Patton will appear in multiple episodes as Mikki Von, an assistant district attorney who is described as “charming and savvy.”
“When I saw Paula Patton give that terrific performance [as Ms. Blu Rain in 'Precious'], I knew she’d be perfect for ‘SVU’s new ADA,” says series boss Neal Baer. “She’s funny, warm and witty.”
‘Law & Order: SVU’ this fall will air Wednesdays at 9/8c, leading into the new ‘Law & Order: Los Angeles.’
In addition to being a part of ‘Precious’ SAG-nominated cast, Patton, 34, recently was seen on the big screen in Queen Latifah’s ‘Just Wright.’ She has also had roles in the films ‘Mirrors’ and ‘Hitch.’
Off screen, she is wed to recording artist Robin Thicke, with whom she has a 3-month-old son.
