Wanna know what’s coming up on your favorite show, from summer or fall? Tuesday is tease-day at Fancast, and MattMtvguy@gmail.com is the place to send your questions. Here now the scoop!
The CBS website suggests that Barrett Foa is no longer an ‘NCIS: LA‘ regular. Can you confirm? – Lori
I don’t know what drop-down menu of what tab of what page at CBS.com gave you that impression (no really, I searched all around), but a show rep maintains that Foa (who plays tech operator Eric Beal) is definitely still a regular.
The story on the ‘Hawaii Five-O’ set being “blessed” got me thinking: Didn’t McGarrett have a sister on the original show? Is she on the new one? – Layne
Yes, McGarrett’s younger sister did make a couple of appearances on the original series. And yes, she will be a part of the new ‘Five-O.’ Although there was some speculation that Taryn Manning‘s ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ return might conflict with her ‘Five-O’ gig, I am assured she will recur as Mary Ann.
Got anything good for ‘Criminal Minds‘ or the spin-off? I will take anything! – Sarah
You know the Kirsten Vangsness/double duty-as-Garcia news? If you, like me, wondered if she will in fact at some juncture be appearing on both shows simultaneously, the answer is yes. Though ‘Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior’ does not yet have a premiere date or time slot, I am told that Vangsness will do both shows at once, which is a pretty neat trick. Sure, you may trot out ‘NCIS’ Rocky Carroll as a precedent, but he’s not a regular on both his shows; Kirsten is.
Do you know what might land in the first script of ‘The Good Wife‘s second season? – TheGoodFan via Twitter
I asked Archie Panjabi that very question when she and I celebrated her Emmy nod, but at that time she had yet to spy the first script. “From what I gather,” she ventured, “they’re very, very excited about the new season. They’ve got lots of interesting storylines planned, and the rumor is they’re going to push the boundaries even further.” Kalinda and further-pushed boundaries? Sign me up.
Any scoop on ‘The Closer‘? – Melanie
Continuing this season’s run of solid guest stars (how good was Titus Welliver last night?!), Kay Lenz (‘Rich Man, Poor Man’) turns up next week as a grandmother who’s got her hands full. “I don’t want to give anything away about her storyline,” Jon Tenney shared with me, “but she’s extraordinary.”
I wanted to know if you’d heard anything about Holly coming back to ‘The Office‘ next season. If Michael Scott is leaving, I want him to live happily ever after with his true lady love. – Ruth
Your dream may come true. An NBC rep confirms that which started trickling out last week: “Amy Ryan is returning next season.” For how many episodes is unclear, but you’d have to think she will play into Steve Carell’s exit story – for better or for worse. (For richer, for poorer…?)
Please let us know how the ‘Mad Men‘ premiere is! – Sean
My love for ‘Mad Men’ knows no bounds, and it was energized anew by this coming Sunday’s opening hour. Seriously, you forget just how good this show is, and then bam! Greatness is back on your screen. All told, I foresee a very prickly season ahead, given the state of two unions: Don and Betty’s, and Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce’s. Suffice to say, it’s been an “interesting” year since we last tuned in.
Anything new to share about ‘One Tree Hill‘? Your last scoop on the Clay/Quinn story got me curious. – Shayne
You think you’re curious? Imagine how my mind is reeling given what I just learned about the precise medical aftermath of that double shooting. Let Kleenex be your friend.
How about some ‘True Blood‘ scoop? I would love to know what Eric is up to in upcoming episodes! – Lorraine
Here is the Eric-centric intel courtesy of HBO’s very wonderful and spoilery previews: On August 1, “Eric uses Hadley as bait to get information from Sophie-Anne.” Later that month, “Eric proves the depth of his allegiance to Russell,” and then “Nan Flanagan detours to Fangtasia to confront Eric.”
Is there an exact episode amount for ‘Human Target‘s Season 2? – DullyEl via Twitter
‘Human Target’ has its sights trained on, at the very least, a 13-episode sophomore run. Cross your fingers for more!
Yours included, I now know of two publicly acknowledged viewings of NBC’s ‘The Event‘ pilot – and both were annoyingly vague! – TheEventLog via Twitter
That is perhaps because the biggest thing that happens in ‘The Event’ takes place in the final moments of the pilot, and no one who values his or her life (or hopes to ever have a call returned by NBC) dare speak of what it is. I’ll say this: The show has a very twisty way of teeing up its sprawling mystery; Blair Underwood is appropriately upstanding as the show’s POTUS; Sarah Roemer looks superb in a two-piece; and Laura Innes just may make us forget about Kerry Weaver.
I think you should have an entire “Big Tease” column devoted to ‘Smallville,’ in honor of this being the last season. – imp3rial1
