It’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck vs. Kathy Griffin, Round 2!

Talk-show host Elisabeth Hasselbeck took another swipe at her nemesis Kathy Griffin on ‘The View‘ this morning, calling the comedian ‘scum.’

Hasselbeck got in a huff because Griffin referred to a politician’s daughters as “prostitutes” on her show.

In a scene from last week’s episode of ‘Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List,’ Griffin made a joke about Republican Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts, saying he “has two daughters that are prostitutes.”

“I know his daughters and they are anything BUT that,” Hasselbeck said during Monday’s round table discussion. “Kathy Griffin’s got to back up on that one right now.”

“You know what … here’s the thing,” she added, “we’ve always said politicians’ kids are off-limits … if someone went around and called Barack Obama’s daughters prostitutes, people would be up in arms!”

Griffin’s “joke” referred to a statement Brown made during his Senate victory speech earlier this year in which he quipped that his daughters Ayla and Arianna were “available.”

‘The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck Is Not Amused by Kathy Griffin

Joy Behar tried to remind her fellow co-hosts, “It’s just a joke,” and that sent Hasselbeck off on one of her high-pitched hissy fits: “Wait a minute, are you justifying what Kathy Griffin said about these two young girls???”

“It’s not just a joke,” Elisabeth countered.

As the discussion escalated, Behar asked, “Are you calling Kathy ‘scum’ now?”

“In general, if someone called your daughter a prostitute, would you think they’d be scum?” Hasselbeck questioned back. “I’d call them scum.”

Whoopi Goldberg, ever the diplomatic mediator, settled the scummy dispute: “If somebody talked about my daughter–as a joke like that–I would beat their ass.”
