James Tupper – whose ‘Men In Trees’ character was unofficially dubbed “McTreemy” – may find himself treating McDreamy this season on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’

Tupper will join the ABC drama for at least two episodes, EW.com reports, as Andrew Perkins, a trauma counselor who will help the Seattle Gracers bounce back from the harrowing bloodbath that sullied the hospital’s halls in the season finale.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Sets Return Date – But There’s a Twist!

Me, I’m going to put this out there: While not identical twins by any stretch, Tupper and ‘Grey’s’ regular Eric Dane sport similar enough of looks that someone is going to have to blink and, I dunno, buzz their hair or go baby-smooth sans facial hair. I mean, it’d be tragic (if not derivative of ‘The Bold and The Beautiful’) if, say, Lexie or Teddy got the men mixed up when going for a romp in the dark on-call room.

No April Foolin’: ‘Grey’s’ Brings Back Polarizing Doc

Tupper most recently played doctor (in more ways than one, heh) on ‘Mercy,’ the short-lived NBC medical drama that prompted ‘Grey’s’ to tweak the name of SGH’s cross-town rival to Mercy West. True-ish story!

He also is, of course, romantically involved with his ‘Men In Trees’ leading lady, Anne Heche, with whom he has a 16-month-old son.

Watch Out, ‘Grey’s Ladies! Jackson’s a Keeper

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ kicks off its seventh season on September 23.
