Opening Today: Despicable Me, Predators

Here’s what’s new at theaters near you. The very cute and fun family comedy Despicable Me will fill kids’ heads with visions of giggling minions, while adults can have some fun watching the revamping of a classic monster franchise with Predators. Those of you in selected cities can also check out a Sundance hit entitled The Kids Are All Right, about a very unconventional family. Take a closer look at these films below.

Steve Carell voices Gru, a diabolical supervillain with a horde of adorable gibberish-spouting minions on a mission to reclaim his glory from an upstart young criminal twerp named Vector (Jason Segel) by stealing the moon itself. However, his plan involves adopting three sweetly weird orphan girls, who proceed to completely change his life’s focus from his own glory to becoming an unlikely family man. Also featuring the voices of Russell Brand, Miranda Cosgrove and Julie Andrews.

Predators

Robert Rodriguez produces this much-anticipated reboot of the classic monster-movie franchise. Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne are part of a group of hard-bitten mercenaries who are stranded on a planet not their own – one they slowly realize is a game preserve, and they are the game for the cunning species of alien hunters.
