Let the ‘Mad Men‘ season four countdown clock begin!

In preparation for ‘Mad Men’s new season, AMC has released a video with series showrunner Matt Weiner and the cast of the Emmy-winning drama dissecting some of their favorite “rules.” I was hoping this would be something along the lines of “never do lunch on a liquorless stomach,” but apparently what they mean by “rules” is actually just an accumulation of the characters’ best quotes serving as a springboard for discussion.

Obviously Roger takes the lion’s share when it comes to choice material, but Betty Draper gets major apathy points with her rule #3 zinger to Bobby: “Go bang your head against the wall. Only boring people are bored.”

As for season four teasers, the notoriously vague and tight-lipped Weiner meagerly offers: “there are definitely going to be a lot of new rules. And a lot of old rules that people forgot about.”

Take a peek below. It’s no “Don Draper’s Guide To Picking Up Women,” but frankly – what is?

Season four of ‘Mad Men’ premieres Sunday, July 25 at 10 p.m. on AMC.
