Big-screen bombshell Susan Sarandon is aiming to put her own spin on the reality TV genre with what she describes as an “episodic documentary” about the world of ping pong players.

“We’re trying to invent something you haven’t seen before, that follows a bunch of people in this crazy little subculture,” she tells People.com.

Sarandon – who by no coincidence is an investor in the trendy New York City ping pong club SPiN – says that filming is in the early stages, and she has yet to court a TV outlet.

“I’m not sure where we’re going to land,” she says, “because we want the tone of it to be funny and quite different than anything else that anybody’s seen before.
