The quirky haven of Stars Hollow may have had its own little horrors (I’m talking to you, Kirk), but it’s a scream compared to the nightmarish town of Woodsboro.
“A source close to the production tells me that Lauren Graham, known to many as Lorelai Gilmore, has signed on to the film,” reports Sara Castillo.
Taking a break from ‘Parenthood,’ Graham will film an undisclosed role in the recently resurrected horror film franchise, which last haunted theaters a decade ago.
Graham will be in bloody good company too, as many of the original players are back for another slashing.
Courteney Cox, currently tearing it up in ‘Cougar Town,’ will return as intrepid reporter Gale Weathers and husband David Arquette reprises his role as Sheriff Dewey Riley. And the original ‘Scream‘ queen Neve Campbell is back as the tortured Sidney Prescott.
Of course, with a new nightmare comes young fresh blood. Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere (‘Heroes‘), Rory Culkin and Lake Bell are among the cast of newbies attached to the sequel, slated for release in April 2011, and backed by the master himself Wes Craven and original screenwriter Kevin Williamson.
Here’s the vague plot synopsis from IMDB: “Ten years have passed, and Sidney Prescott, who has put herself back together thanks in part to her writing, is visited by the Ghostface Killer.”
