You’ve Got B.O.: ‘Shrek’ Fends Off Weak Field

The lackluster summer season continues. Despite four new entries in the field this weekend, Shrek 4 has maintained its hold on the box office crown despite dwindling numbers. Get Him To The Greek had the best debut, but it only pulled in $17.4 million – which was just enough to beat out Ashton Kutcher’s Killers. Marmaduke and Splice didn’t fare nearly as well.

1. Shrek Forever After – $25.3m
2. Get Him To The Greek – $17.4m
3. Killers – $16.1m
4. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time – $13.9m
5. Sex and the City 2 – $12.6m
6. Marmaduke – $11.3m
7. Iron Man 2 – $7.7m
8. Splice – $7.4m
9. Robin Hood – $5.1m
10. Letters to Juliet – $3m
