Liza Minnelli can currently be seen on the big screen in 'Sex and the City 2' (Warner Bros.)
A spokesperson for Liza Minnelli is shooting down a report that the veteran entertainer will be appearing on VH1′s ‘Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew.’
“Liza Minnelli, who is beginning a national tour in St. Louis on June 5, is not now, nor will ever be, on ‘Celebrity Rehab,’” her rep tells Us in a statement.
‘Jersey Shore’s Atlantic City Auditions Are a Bust
TMZ single-handedly started the rumor with a Wednesday item claiming the VH1 series – which has struggled to line up any “name” talent for its fourth season – is waving a $500,000-per-episode payday in Liza’s face.
Although Minnelli reportedly “flipped out” when TMZ ran its original, since-amended story, the gossip site says ‘Celeb Rehab’ is still laboring to land the A-list-with-a-Z star, to serve a leadership role.
“We want her in the Mackenzie Phillips/Gary Busey position – already sober but strengthening her sobriety,” a source tells TMZ. “We would not portray her as a drug addict.”
