The CW will launch its 2010-11 TV season with 10 hours of original programming, a feat the network is quite proud of.
With ‘Melrose Place’ and a few barely memorable others now gone, The CW has added to its ranks ‘Nikita,’ a new spin on the film-turned-USA Network series, and ‘Hellcats,’ a drama about competitive college cheerleading exec-produced by ‘Smallville’ star Tom Welling. Also, “encore presentations” of ‘America’s Next Top Model’ are being replaced with fresh episodes of ‘Supernatural,’ which will now air Fridays at 9/8c.
The midseason plan includes ‘Shedding For a Wedding’ (a reality series in which brides- and grooms-to-be strive to look “less big” for the big day) and other unnamed contenders, CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff told Fancast..
