Is 'No Ordinary Family' strong enough to battle 'NCIS' and 'Glee'? (ABC)

ABC’s lineup for the fall features an extraordinary ‘Family’ headed by Vic Mackey (meaning ‘The Shield’s Michael Chiklis), a crime-solving Dana Delany and some tough Detroit cops.

Come midseason, viewers can expect a new medical drama produced by ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ boss Shonda Rhimes, the return of Friend Matthew Perry, and more lizardlike Vs.

What’s new: ‘No Ordinary Family’ stars Chiklis and Julie Benz (‘Dexter’) as the heads of a family that, following a plane crash, becomes imbued with special powers. ‘Detroit 1-8-7′ stars Michael Imperioli (‘The Sopranos’) as a member of a Detroit homicide squad tailed by a documentary crew.

10/9c ‘The Whole Truth’ [new]

What’s new: ‘Better Together’ stars JoAnna Garcia (swoon, ‘Reba’) and Jennifer Finnigan (‘Close to Home’) as sisters at very different stages in their lives and romances; Jake Lacy and Josh Cooke play the gals’ respective beaus, Debro Jo Rupp and Kurt Fuller their parents. ‘The Whole Truth’ is a legal drama starring Rob Morrow (‘Numb3rs’) and showing the way a case is built from the perspective of both the defense and prosecution.

What’s new: ‘My Generation’ finds a documentary crew catching up 10 years later with a group of high schoolers it had previously profiled; the cast includes Jaime King and Mehcad Brooks.

What’s new: ‘Secret Millionare’ = “Undercover Rich People.” ‘Body of Proof’ stars Dana Delany (‘Desperate Housewives’) as a brilliant neurosurgeon turned medical examiner with a want to solve crimes; somewhere, Patricia Cornwell is scratching her head.
