‘The Oprah Winfrey Show‘ has welcomed its fair share of big stars onto her show, but the screams definitely hit a new high on Thursday when the stars of the ‘Twilight‘ saga, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart joined the talk-show maven on stage.
Although Pattinson claims that the shrieking doesn’t occur “everywhere”, their appearance brought fans to tears.
The Twilight phenomenon “is really unlike anything else,” explains Lautner. “It’s amazing. Over the past two years I’ve had the time of my life so I couldn’t be more thankful.”
But the 18-year-old star who plays Jacob isn’t taking fame the way most of young Hollywood does. In fact, he’s yet to have his first drink of alcohol or cigarette. “I guess it’s just the way I was raised by my parents and my family,” the innocent star says.
“It’s almost like you live two different worlds. You go into that world and then you completely vanish and then you go back into your regular life,” Lautner explains.
“That’s a good way of putting it,” Pattinson agrees. “I think sort of being central to the whole thing since the beginning, it started when no one knew anything about it. So now it kind of does feel like you’re in the eye of the storm.”

It’s been two years since the first movie in the series, ‘Twilight,’ hit the big screen and sent Pattinson into super stardom. “I still to this day can’t really connect to all the craziness which is a great position to be in ‘cause you can appreciate it when you walk into a room and everyone is screaming,” he laughs. “It’s not really about you, so it never really goes to your head.”
Pattinson was recently featured in Time Magazine’s list of 100 “Most Influential People” and listed as one of People Magazine’s “Most Beautiful People”, but the star who plays statuesque Edward Cullen laughs it off.
Making the “Most Beautiful” list far outweighs being influential he says. “I have no reason to influence people I just want to have it all to myself. I just want someone to pat me on the back,” he says, to which rumored girl-friend Stewart obliges. “It just seems completely ridiculous… Three years ago I wouldn’t be able to influence my dog to walk,” he laughs.
And now, “I was above Obama… It’s completely insane,” says the British star.
Stewart who is contrastingly shy next to Pattinson’s boisterous banter explained to Winfrey about her shyness. “I get so nervous,” she tells the host who then gives her a hug. “I understand that words have weight,” she says. “And I mince them when I know that everybody is waiting for them.”
To that effect, she is very similar to her character, Bella. “I feel like I probably bring more of myself to Bella than I have to any other character. That’s all I can do,” says the actress. “I can completely relate to her, to the fact that she’s totally awkward but that she owns it and she’s not going to say anything that she doesn’t mean.”
Stewart should, in fact, be thanked by millions of fans for helping to handpick Pattinson from the throngs of actors who wanted to play the coveted role of Edward Cullen. She had already been cast and had to read lines with the vampire wannabes. “I guess it was just a gut thing. He was good [in the audition], she says, “We read some scenes,” while Pattinson jokingly called himself “sloppy seconds.”

So are these two an item? Pattinson tried to deter from the question by announcing that “Kristen is pregnant.”
A shocked Stewart laughed it off and explained, “He really likes to shock people because he thinks it’s funny.”
Then she fuels the fire. “We’ve actually had this conversation [about pregnancy]. He’s having the baby,” she says, admitting that her skinny 5-foot-6 frame probably couldn’t withstand having a child. “Imagine a baby coming out of this thing? That’s just not gonna happen,” she says.
And the question was dropped.
But perhaps another hint of their relationship status came from Pattinson while discussing his accent. “Kristen thinks I do the most terrible American accent,” Pattinson told the crowd. “No, I don’t,” she sheepishly laughs. “Occasionally some word will come out and I’ll say ‘we don’t say that.’”
So how did he get such a spot-on accent?
“I grew up watching American movies,” says the actor, who is originally from the United Kingdom. “I used to want to be a rapper when I was 14… There are a few key words like ‘water’, I think as soon as you can say water in an American accent you are half way there.” “Pasta,” adds his maybe girlfriend, “that one is really tough.”
Just like Pattinson had to transform his accent, Lautner had to transform his body to become werewolf Jacob for ‘Twilight: New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse.’ “It was definitely a lot of work,” admits the young star. “When I was filming ‘Twilight,’ I knew where my character went physically and I definitely wasn’t there so it was about a year’s worth of work. It required a lot of time in the gym – an hour and a half five days a week. And I ate a lot, as much as I could.”
But he didn’t eat just anything. “If I was busy and I was on set or in meeting I would have to carry around this little cooler [with] beef patties. It’s so weird,” he says. “I’d be talking to someone and then I’d say, ‘can you hold on one sec? I’m gonna eat a beef patty.’”
When asked what he looks for in a girlfriend, Lautner, who once dated songstress Taylor Swift, answered, “loyalty and honesty, but what’s really important to me is somebody who can let loose and pretty much be themselves and have fun.” Pattinson joked that “she must like beef patties” as well.

Dakota Fanning, who plays the evil vampire Jane, joined the cast later in the hour. She told Winfrey that she read all four ‘Twilight’ books in a week. “I just read it and I was hooked,” says the 16-year-old star.
She also worked with Stewart on the Joan Jett movie ‘The Runaways.’ “I’ve gotten to know [Kristen] very well… She’s become one of my best-friends.”
“She would never tell you what I’m really like,” Stewart admits. “I’m 20, Dakota is 16 and I’ve always had friends that were older than me but I call her for advice when I’m freaking out about something.”
Fanning, who has been called “wise beyond her years”, doesn’t feel that way at all. “I feel the age that I am,” says the very poised blonde. “I definitely grew up differently. I’ve been working since I was 6. I have a very different life than other people my age when I’m working, but when I come home, it’s so normal. I have a completely normal family that’s not involved in the business in any way – besides my sister – so I think its nice to maintain that and it helps.”
“I don’t think I grew up faster, I’ve been so lucky to have the childhood that I had,” she says. “I’ve seen so many different things and met so many people that I think my life has only been better because of it.”
In fact, her sister, Elle, who is also an actress loves that Fanning is playing Jane in the vampire saga. My sister who is 12 and her best friend are obsessed with everything [Twilight]. They have the cutouts of Rob and Taylor.” In fact, “they’re making a robot at school and they named it “Robot Pattinson”,” she laughs.
