Agent Charles Carmichael will live to spy another day now that NBC has renewed ‘Chuck’ for a fourth season.
“Just got the official call: thank you Chuck fans!” series creator Josh Schwartz effused via Twitter. “Thrilled to keep working with amazing cast & crew.”
‘Chuck’s nailbiter of a pick-up is becoming an annual tradition for the action-comedy’s loyal viewers. A year ago, fans concerted to patronize advertiser Subway with an awareness-increasing campaign. That effort grabbed headlines, prompted NBC to think long and hard about the “little show that could”s fate, eventually earn it a renewal and even score some sweet Subway product placement during Season 3.
Despite the terrific pick-up news, Schwartz urges fans, “You all still need to watch. Monday is last episode before the crazy, emotional, cliffhanging 2 hr finale!” In the coming episode, he reminds, Scott Bakula (‘Quantum Leap’) is set to return and Chuck and Ellie’s enigmatic papa.
