True Blood‘s third minisode has arrived, and unlike the previous two forward-looking installments, the latest features Sookie, Tara, and Lafayette at Merlotte’s in what appears to be a flashback to the day of Bill and Sookie’s engagement dinner (aka the Bill vampnapping season two finale).

All begins well, with Sookie showing off a fancy dress purchased by Bill, but the conversation takes a sharp turn when Tara questions the legitimacy of Mr. Compton’s finances, hilariously asking if he suffered any monetary blows as a result of the stock market crash. (Something tells me that having lived through several economic downturns, Bill is wise enough to have all his funds stored in an offshore account.)

The ensuing verbal sparring match between Sookie and Tara ends quite brutally with Sookie accusing her best friend of being “racist” against vampires (see above pic for Tara’s reaction). Lafayette jumps into the fray, blatantly instigating:  “Uh oh. Hello Kitty’s claws is comin’ out!”

Although this new ‘Drop of True Blood’ is certainly not as exciting as ‘Jessica,’ and ‘Eric & Pam,’  it still satisfies the bloodlust for season three’s June 13 premiere.
