Happy Town‘ has been put out of its misery.

ABC pulled the series from its schedule after just two episodes, reports THR’s The Live Feed.

The mystery drama, which stars Steven Weber, Amy Acker and Geoff Stults, received a sad 3.9 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the adult demo after its second airing. The network plans to ‘burn off’ the remaining five episodes this summer, starting on June 2.

And so, the Wednesdays-at-10 p.m. curse lives on for ABC, who just can’t seem to make a show work in that time slot.
