Days of Our Lives‘ Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) and Daniel (Shawn Christian) prove the old adage once a cheater, always a cheater.  Chloe’s affair with Daniel broke up her marriage to Lucas. Now her relationship with Daniel is in jeopardy because she already cheated on him with Philip. Meanwhile, he is fighting his attraction to Carly.  I spoke to both halves of this seemingly doomed couple about their dysfunctional relationship at a recent ‘Days of Our Lives’ cocktail party.

Shawn Christian Thinks Daniel Should Make the Most of the Carly-Chloe Triangle

Daniel’s been with Chloe, Carly and Chelsea.  Why is he so obsessed with women whose names start with C?
Something about the C word turns him on. I don’t know. I hadn’t even thought of that.  Each one of them has a unique quality or a unique characteristic.  C would stand for, if you turn it sideways, U for unknown.

Who do you think is the right woman for Daniel, Chloe or Carly?
I don’t think he’s explored his relationship dynamic with Carly (Crystal Chappell) yet.  But then again it’s hard.  He’s got enough history and so much drama with Chloe.  That’s where his heart is at the moment.  It’s one of those things that you keep exploring, and exploring and exploring and peel back layers and layers.  But I don’t think he’s explored his dynamic with either one of them.

When you found out that Daniel was inviting Carly to move in with him and Chloe, as a guy did you think,”This is the stupidest idea ever?”
No.  It’s genius!  If you can make that work, it’s genius.

Is Daniel ever going to offer both women a couple glasses of wine, suggest they play a little Pictionary, and see what happens?
I think that would have been a fabulous idea.  See where it goes, from Pictionary into the unknown. A little Twister. Next thing, we’re making sushi.  Who knows?

How do you feel about Daniel getting a long lost daughter?
I thought that was a wonderful surprise.  I had not anticipated that in the least.  It happened so quickly I did not know what to expect.  But I do think it adds a great quality to Daniel’s character, something that we haven’t seen before.

You were just in a TV movie for NBC, ‘Secrets of the Mountain,‘ that did really well.  Is it going to become a series?
I don’t know.  We’ve been talking about it. The numbers were really, really good and people have been asking me about it.  It’s really out of my hands.  I don’t know where that could lead.  It outperformed what they anticipated.

What does ‘Days of Our Lives’ turning 45 mean to you?
Because now shows come and go so quickly, I think it’s pretty amazing.  I consider myself pretty blessed to actually be on the show at this juncture. The show is part of history now.

You got your start in daytime on ‘As The World Turns.’  How do you feel about that show coming to an end?
I’m sad for the actors. I’m sad for the show, because once again that’s another show that’s part of history.  But all of them are very talented and they’re going to land on their feet.

What’s coming up for Daniel this summer?
Expect the unexpected.  That’s all I can tell you.

Nadia Bjorlin Thinks Chloe Is Desperate And Willing To Do Anything

Chloe’s gotten into a little bit of trouble with Daniel.
Chloe’s misunderstood.  She finds herself in predicaments.  She doesn’t mean to end up that way.  It just happens.  Chloe’s kind of emotional.  She jumps to conclusions.   Actually, it’s written really well in the sense of, how could you not construe this conversation to be what you think it is. How could Chloe not think that something is going on with Carly and Daniel?

Who does she really want to be with: Daniel or Philip?
It’s a soap opera.  You never know.  But right now she wants to be with Daniel but she’s afraid that she really messed up and she’s going to lose him because she’s obviously been really insecure about Carly and acting out and sleeping with Phillip. She doesn’t know how to tell him, what the right approach is.  It’s really a tangled web she’s woven for herself. It’s going to get interesting to see how it plays out.  As an actress, I don’t know how her and Phillip’s (Jay Kenneth Johnson) relationship is going to evolve.

Do you think Chloe stands a chance against Carly?
Carly’s a tough one.   I think Chloe’s up for the challenge to step up to the plate.  Right now she’s sort of desperate and willing to do anything to get her life back in order. She’s not going to let Carly stand in her way. It creates a really good tension.

Vivian plans to manipulate Chloe into murdering Carly.  Is Chloe going to fall into her clutches?
I don’t know.  But right now it’s kind of looking that way.  It’s kind of looking like she’s going to fall for it because she kind of wants to also believe Vivian (Louise Sorel).  She needs an ally in this case and what Vivian is suggesting is obviously kind of preposterous and obviously insane but I think she’s so desperate now that she’s willing to seek any way out so people do desperate things in desperate times.

What are some of your favorite recent scenes?
I’ve been enjoying working with Jay again.  It’s been great reliving the old Chloe days.  I’m loving working with Crystal Chappell. It’s really fun. It’s kind of challenging because we like each other so much in real life to have all that animosity.  But there’s a lot of laughter in between takes. Chloe’s just going to continue to dig herself a little bit deeper in a hole.  It’s going to get really interesting.

You  have been on a lot of Beautiful People lists.  Do you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and say, “I am awesome?”
No.  Like any other woman, I have good days and bad days.  I had nothing to do with it.  It was just my parents. So I guess I thank them.

Are you working on any other projects right now?
I am getting ready to launch a blog on NBC.com, called Chronicles of Nadia.  It’s going to be about fashion, beauty and health.  I am really excited to do that because through social networking people always ask about make up tips and hair tips and stuff on the show — what the actors do, who are my favorite designers. It’s going to be a great vehicle to share all that.

You are part of a real life soap romance with Brandon Beemer (Owen, ‘Bold & The Beautiful’).  How are you two doing?
We’re doing amazingly well.  We’re so happy.  I couldn’t ask for anything more.
