A big change in the movie category as ‘The Lovely Bones‘ overtook ‘The Blind Side‘ as the most watched movie of the week. For those who haven’t seen it yet, this is a good choice for the weekend. But it’s a hard two hours. It will take something out of you. The movie, based on the bestselling book and starring Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, and Saoirse Ronan, centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family – and her killer – from heaven.

To be honest, critics were mixed. “It’s all a gorgeous error, a bonfire of overreach,” said the New York Post. But Rolling Stone gave it a thumb’s up,saying, “All this is conveyed in the remarkable performance of Ronan, an Oscar nominee for Atonement. She and Tucci — magnificent as a man of uncontrollable impulses — help Jackson cut a path to a humanity that supersedes life and death.

.

If that doesn’t strike you right, try the next most popular, ‘Crazy Heart.’ Jeff Bridges won the Oscar for Best Actor in this story of a broken-down, hard-living country music singer who’s had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times. Yet he finds salvation in a woman played wonderfully by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

You can’t go wrong with either. As for what else was popular among consumers, here is the entire list of top 10 movies for the week ending April 25, 2010:
