Tragic news for TV icon Daisy Duke.

The husband of ‘The Dukes of Hazzard‘ star Catherine Bach has been found dead in an apparent suicide, reports TMZ.

Police and paramedics responded to a 911 call around 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Encino, Calif., home of Bach and her husband Peter Lopez, who reportedly shot himself.

“We’re still in the early stages of the investigation, but what we gather is it’s an apparent suicide,” said LAPD spokesperson Lt. John Romero, according to E! Online.

Bach and her children are said to be devastated over this “tragic personal loss,” said her publicist, Steve Rohr.

The family says Lopez showed no outward signs of depression.

In an interview with RadarOnline, Lopez’s mother Eleanor says, “I just can’t believe it, I spoke to him just last night and he seemed fine. I’ve been in and out of the hospital lately and he has been calling me every night to check on me and make sure I’m OK.”

“Catherine is falling apart. I don’t blame her. She’s in shock,” she added.

Lopez was an entertainment attorney, who has represented such stars as Michael Jackson, The Eagles, Andrea Bocelli and Michael Buble.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the unexpected loss of our friend and partner,” said a rep for Lopez’s firm in a statement, according to the AP.

“I’d known Peter for 20 years,” says Raymone Bain, Michael Jackson’s former general manager. “I can’t think of a nicer individual,” she told the AP. “He was a good guy. I’m just so shocked.”

Bach, 56, and Lopez, 60, married in 1990 and have two daughters.
