CBS’ top-rated ‘NCIS‘ will assuredly be back for an eighth season this fall. But might the NCIS team itself take on a “different” look?

Although Mark Harmon, Cote de Pablo and Rocky Carroll are signed through Season 8, the contracts for four other cast members – Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray and David McCallum – expire at the end of the current run.

Casting doubt on the intact team’s future, says Deadline.com, is talk that CBS has approached Weatherly, Perrette et al with “pretty low-ball offers.”

Currently, some of the four are reportedly pulling in less than $100,000 per episode – this for TV’s most-watched scripted series, one that commands a weekly audience of almost 20 million viewers.

An ‘NCIS’ spokesperson referred Fancast’s request for comment to a CBS Television Studios rep who was not immediately available for comment.

What’s your reaction, ‘NCIS’ fans? Is the show’s success dictated by its current, 100-percent intact ensemble? Or could the show endure a cast change or two, as it has done before?
