When a right-wing celebrity gets honored by TIME as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, who better to have write a glowing article about that person than Sarah Palin, yet another conservative star?

That is exactly what TIME did after selecting Fox News host Glenn Beck (#12) as one of its elite movers and shakers, a list that also includes Palin (#9), who counts herself as a co-worker to Beck now that she has a show on the cable news network.

“Glenn delights in driving the self-proclaimed powers-that-be crazy,” Palin writes in the TIME article. “Though he sometimes dismisses himself as an a-shucks guy or just a ‘rodeo clown,’ he’s really an inspiring patriot who was once at the bottom but now makes a much needed difference from the very, very top.”

It is true that Beck has been a force to be reckoned with amongst news networks, but things have been slipping for the entertainer. The Los Angeles Times reports that since January, Beck’s ratings have slipped from nearly 2.9 million viewers to 2.1, a drop of about 30%.
