Fans turned out in record numbers when ‘Deadliest Catch‘ returned for its sixth season April 13. Many were mourning the loss of one of its stars, Captain Phil Harris, who died last February, at age 53, after suffering a stroke less than two weeks earlier.

Watch an extended video from this new season.

On Friday, April 30, the Discovery Channel will host a public memorial service for the popular seaman in Seattle. “Remarks will be made from Phil’s sons, Jake and Josh Harris, several close friends and fellow fisherman, and Discovery Channel executives,” the network said in a statement. “In addition, a tribute video honoring Phil’s legacy will be shown.”

Although space at the memorial is limited to 2,000 people, arrangements have been made so that all of Capt. Phil’s fans can attend.
