Thanks to HBO’s newly released ‘True Blood‘ minisode, we can all be reminded just how much Bon Temps’ sexiest vampire, Eric (sorry Bill), has been missed. And lets face it, he has been sorely missed.

In the first minisode, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Pam (Kristin Bauer) are on a mission to find a new dancer at Fangtasia. Unfortunately, as the video below proves, they’re mostly a bunch of hapless, hopeless duds.

It’s difficult to ignore a certain quality of pantslessness that seems to bind these auditioners together: from the Jennifer Beals circa ‘Flashdance‘ doppelganger, to the poor man’s cowboy Steve Buscemi. But not even dropped drawers can save them from Eric & Pam’s chopping block, until…

Skarsgard, who appears to be channeling another favorite but far less desirably cruel judge, recently told Details he perfected Eric’s signature scowl by logging hours watching nature documentaries: “It’s, like, you see this big male lion, and he’s chilling in the sun, and he sits up and he looks at something, and you don’t know if he’s going to pounce or if he’s just going to go back to sleep. You never know if he’s bored or he’s frustrated or what.”

Five more minisodes are set to roll out leading up to ‘True Blood’s June 13 premiere, so come back here every week for the goods!

Open Question: How much would you give for a solo audition with Vampire Eric?
