Per the terms of O’Brien’s exit agreement with NBC, he was barred from appearing on TV to discuss his not-so-amicable split from ‘The Tonight Show’ until May 1. The ’60 Minutes’ sit-down, which reportedly was conducted last week in Los Angeles, airs the following day.

O’Brien parted ways with the Peacock in January, when the network opted to return the ‘Tonight Show’s reins to Jay Leno following the failure of his 10 o’clock talker. Since then, he has embarked on a multi-city live concert tour to keep his comedy chops honed. O’Brien also has inked a deal to host a late-night talk show for TBS starting this fall.
