When Aziz Ansari hosts June 6′s MTV Movie Awards in L.A., look for a bizarre hybrid of styles.
“It’s going to be like that show ‘Minute to Win It’ meets ‘Drake and Josh.’ That’s the goal,” Ansari joked to Fancast Monday in Pasadena,
asked about his hosting style. “No, I am really excited, I think it will be great. I think that show is perfect for someone like me. I love making short films, but I love doing stand-up. So, both of those skills are what you need to do that job.”
Ansari, 27, is currently shooting the second season of NBC’s ‘Parks and Recreation.’
“I remember watching that growing up and seeing, like, Ben Stiller host, and recent years, [Adam] Sandler and [Andy] Samberg host. It’s cool to be given that opportunity, it’s such a cool show,” he says. “They want you to do exciting different things, and that’s what I’m trying to do. Hopefully, it will be good.”

As for Ansari increasingly having young, edgy fans, the comedian, who has starred in ‘Funny People,’ ‘Observe and Report,’ and ‘The Rocker,’ is modest.
“I think when you do this stuff, it’s kind of a slow build,” he says. “By doing this show, and I had a stand-up special that came out earlier this
year, I think it all built on itself.”
