Academy Award nominee Juliette Lewis (‘Cape Fear’) will guest-star on ‘Memphis Beat,’ the new TNT series starring Jason Lee (‘My Name Is Earl’) and premiering June 22, Fancast has learned.

Rid of his Earl Hickey ‘stache, Lee fronts the TNT drama as Dwight Hendricks, a Memphis police detective who is reverential of the city’s history and deeply rooted in its music scene. As such, when he’s not keeping Memphis safe, Dwight is known to croon the occasional tune at local establishments.

Lewis will appear in ‘Memphis Beat’s third episode, playing a mother who will stop at nothing to hold her family together – even as poverty and the truth about her husband’s mysterious vanishing threaten to tear the brood apart.

Lewis previously worked alongside Lee when she guest-starred on NBC’s ‘Earl’ as a bounty hunter ex-girlfriend of the titular slacker. Most recently, she was seen starring opposite Ellen Page and Drew Barrymore in the big-screen roller-drama ‘Whip It.’

The ‘Memphis Beat’ ensemble includes Alfre Woodard, Abraham Benrubi (’ER’) and DJ Qualls (’Road Trip‘).
