Which recording artist will be next to get the ‘Glee‘ treatment?

On the heels of last week’s well-received all-Madonna episode (watch it here) – and in the wake of some chatter that the show’s ensemble might next channel Britney Spears – series creator Ryan Murphy instead has his eyes on a Piano Man.

“A Billy Joel episode might be cool,” Murphy told the Hollywood Reporter. “He’s a big fan of the show.”

Pressed to name another contender for a themed episode, Murphy offered, “Maybe Courtney Love.”

What already is in the works is a possible “sequel” to the April 20 “Power of Madonna” episode, serving up the Gleeks’ takes on more of Madge’s myriad tunes.

And although Murphy says the Material Girl “really, really loved” the show’s first crack at her catalog, don’t expect her to put in a cameo the second time around.

With the musical comedy set in a low-profile Ohio berg, having a megawatt pop icon pop up “would be a bit much,” says Murphy.
