Now that ‘The Tonight Show‘ tussle is over and everybody–including Conan O’Brien–is back in the game, what do the other late-night hosts think of Conan’s new gig at TBS?

Conan’s colleague/nemesis Jay Leno spoke publicly about the news with Access Hollywood over the weekend at the TV Land Awards.

“I knew he’d land on his feet,” Leno says. “It’ll be fun. Everybody will compete. 11 o’clock is now the most exciting place to be… I think he’ll be great. He’s a very funny guy.”

Indeed, O’Brien landed somewhere, just three months after he ended his short stint as ‘Tonight Show’ host. The TV industry was caught by surprise last week when TBS announced they snagged the red-headed comedian to host a late-night talk show on the cable network beginning in November.

On whether or not Jay thinks Conan’s unexpected deal with TBS is a good move over the highly rumored talks for a show with Fox, Leno was predictably vague.

“I didn’t know what to think,” he said. “I mean, well, FOX is network but they have cable too, so, you know, it’s all sort of the same now. Everybody sort of reaches the same thing, but I think it’s exciting. I think he’ll do well.”
