Jon Gosselin may want custody of his eight children, but not at the expense of defaming his ex-wife ‘DWTS‘ contestant Kate, well, at least not this week.

During a Pennsylvania child labor hearing on Wednesday, TMZ reports that Kate’s brother, Kevin Kreider and his wife Jodi testified that the Gosselin children suffered “psychological damage” from filming ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8,’ and that there were often “safety issues” in the house.

Jon came to the defense of his wife (and himself) as a parent on Twitter: “The allegations made today by Kevin and Jodi Kreider have not been my experience at all during the production of ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8.’”

Earlier in the day, Jon Tweeted a message that showed a united front with his ex: “Kate and I were doing what was best for our family. And it gave us an opportunity to spend quality family time together. Jon Gosselin”

TLC, the cable network that airs ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8,’ stands by their stars, and tells TMZ, that Wednesday’s allegations are “either completely inaccurate or a distorted representation for maximum attention.”

It’s nice to see them all on the same side for once.
