Even more ‘Law & Order’ is in order, according to a report that NBC has greenlit a Los Angeles-based edition of the crime drama.
‘Law & Order: Los Angeles’ – or ‘LOLA,’ for short – was first hinted at in January at the winter press tour, when NBC exec Angela Bromstad revealed that the network had asked ‘L&O’verlord Dick Wolf to cook up another offshoot.
According to Deadline.com yet unconfirmed by an NBC spokesman, 12 episodes of ‘Law & Order: LA’ have been ordered, presumably to air in the fall. ‘Brotherhood’ creator Blake Masters will pen the new series with Wolf.
Does this mean NBC will once again have three ‘L&O’s on the air at once?
‘SVU’ will be picked up for a 12th cycle, says Deadline, and you’re kidding yourself if you think the original ‘Law & Order’ won’t return for one more round, if only to break ‘Gunsmoke’s record as TV’s longest-running drama.
But back to ‘LOLA’: Let’s help Dick Wolf cast the new spin-off. Which actor(s) would you like to see don a badge to solve L.A. crime?
