Over the weekend, ‘Bachelor’ franchise alums Tara Durr and John Presser announced they’re engaged — to each other, People reports.
How did they finally meet their match? Facebook!
Florida real estate agent Tara Durr, who was rejected by bachelor Lorenzo Borghese, didn’t make it past the first round of the show. John Presser, likewise, didn’t last beyond the first episode during Jillian Harris’ ‘Bachelorette’ reign. But the two found each other on a private ‘Bachelor’ Facebook page last July, and began corresponding.
The couple announced their engagement during the fourth reunion of ‘Bachelor/Bachelorette’ alumni this past weekend.
Presser said he loves that Durr’s “morals were there. She saved herself for marriage, and for a girl like her, extremely attractive, to save herself for marriage … I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, but it’s impossible to explain.”
For Durr, the chemistry is compelling. “I don’t like to be away from him. Before, I loved long distance because it gave me my own space, so I think everything was just different with him.”
And now the lovebirds are busy planning a 550(!) person wedding, set for late November, and the guest list will include at least thirty or so ‘Bachelor’ alums.
Why is this news? Considering ‘The Bachelor’s lousy track record at actual match-making, any marriage that comes out of the show is noteworthy.
