Comcast On Demand today premieres two movies that couldn’t be any more different. On one hand, you’ve got the goofy, bouncy kid flick Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel, and on the other hand you’ve got a hard-hitting adult-oriented dirty cop drama Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. Take a closer look at both films below.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel
The whole Chipmunk gang is back for more high-pitched crooning comedy, and this time Alvin, Simon and Theodore have to contend with The Chippettes – Brittany, Eleanor and Jeannette – and the power of true magic love.
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
Abel Ferrara made quite an impression with his 1992 original Bad Lieutenant starring Harvey Keitel, and now the inimitable Werner Herzog is taking his own shot at reimagining the material, transplanting it from New York to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It remains the story of a drug-addled cop on the edge (Nicolas Cage) who doesn’t give a damn about following the law, abusing his authority with abandon while getting deeply involved with a prostitute (Eva Mendes).
