Only when it comes to MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore‘ is a date with the mayor of New York City all but overshadowed by boy problems and legal woes.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino somehow got invited to partook in Saturday’s Inner Circle fundraiser dinner featuring performances from the Broadway musical ‘Hair.’

NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg donned a wig and groovy threads for one number from the far-out revival, and then met up with the ‘Jersey Shore’ duo for the big finale.

In keeping with the ‘Hair’-y theme, Snooki boasted, “I showed my hair poof for mayor B!,” via Twitter.

The MTV stars had a little something to sing about, after all: Just hours earlier, a New Jersey Superior Court judge had denied a request to block the global distribution of ‘Jersey Shore’ episodes, after three people alleged it would damage their reputations.

One plaintiff was a police officer who was fired after getting into a fight with cast members in one episode.

Snooki, however, may have another kind of quarrel on her hands when production on ‘Jersey Shore’s Season 2 commences in Miami this month: Her new beau Emilio has been seen getting a bit clingy in messages posted to Twitter, where the twosome go by @Jealous1sEnV and @Sn00ki.

The New York Examiner asks: How will the lovebirds get on when the six-week shoot demands that Snooki cease all forms of electronic communication?
