In an interview with Life & Style, Douglas–whom we assume is the mystery woman we reported on earlier this month–paints Jake as a confused man whose true love isn’t fiancee Vienna Girardi, but rather, being in front of the camera.
“I don’t think he has any idea what he wants except to be on TV,” she states.
As told by Douglas, the two met in July 2008 while Jake was piloting a plane in North Carolina and had developed a strong relationship. However, Jake began to have financial issues, which prompted him to do ‘The Bachelor’ and place their courtship on hold.
“He told me, ‘I know a way I can get out of this financial burden–I could be the ‘Bachelor.’ Maybe I can persuade the producers to let you be on the show and be one of the 25 contestants, and then it’s rigged for me the whole time, and in the end we can still be together and have the money,’” she explains.
After the show had finished taping (i.e. he had already proposed to Vienna), Douglas alleges that the 31-year-old Texan secretly resumed his relationship with her–using a prepaid cell phone–and quickly admitted that he was still in love with her.
To keep their romance under wraps, Jake had supposedly warned her via text message: “Tanya, the media is not our friend. You ought to protect yourself by telling everyone, ‘No comment.’”
Well, we want you to comment. Is this just more tabloid hearsay, or do you think it’s possible Jake’s not who he says he is?
