Premiering today on Digital Versatile Disc are Walt Disney’s return to 2-D animation The Princess and The Frog, as well as the Oscar-nominated Broken Embraces and Matthew Broderick’s Wonderful World. Also, several films are premiering on Comcast On Demand on the same day as DVD. Check them all out below.

The Princess and The Frog
Walt Disney makes its triumphant return to traditional hand-drawn 2-D animation with this story that takes the old fairy tale of a prince being turned into a frog by a magic curse and sets it in the heyday of New Orleans’ French Quarter. This also marks the first time that an animated Disney musical has featured a black woman as its heroine, which has been a very long time in coming.

Broken Embraces
Renowned director Pedro Almodóvar reteams with his Volver star Penélope Cruz to tell the noirish story of a blind screenwriter named Mateo Blanco (Lluís Homar) who becomes evermore involved with the lovely secretary Lena (Cruz), much to the chagrin of their boss, producer Ernesto Martel (José Luis Gómez). So jealous is he that he commissions a documentary to be made about the making of their film as an excuse to spy on them.

Wonderful World
Matthew Broderick stars as a sullen divorced father who has given up on goodness in his life, but when his Senegalese friend lapses into a diabetic coma, he meets and takes in his sister (Sanaa Lathan) and finds with her some kind of happiness he’d thought impossible.

Also new on DVD are Armored, The Fourth Kind, Astro Boy, Ninja Assassin, Bandslam and Did You Hear About The Morgans?, all also available on Comcast On Demand today.
