Veteran actress Nan Martin died Thursday at her Malibu home at the age of 82, reports the New York Times.
Her son Casey Dolan reveals the cause was complications from emphysema.
Martin is best known to TV audiences for her recurring role as Drew Carey’s mean boss Mrs. Louder on ‘The Drew Carey Show.’
Her many notable television appearances include ‘The Twilight Zone,’ ‘Six Feet Under,’ ‘NYPD Blue,’ ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,’ ‘The Untouchables,’ and ‘The Thorn Birds.’
She’s also remembered as Ali McGraw’s pretentious mother in the 1969 film, ‘Goodbye, Columbus.’ She also played another famous mother–to the one and only Freddy Krueger in ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.’
Her resume also includes a host of Broadway work, including a Tony nomination for her performance as the wife in Archibald MacLeish’s 1958 drama ‘J.B.,’ directed by Elia Kazan.
