Hold on to your hats, this could be the biggest episode of ‘Ghost Whisperer‘ yet.
The CBS show is hitting the huge 100 episode mark and as if starring and executive producing wasn’t enough on her plate, Hewitt is taking the director’s helm for the explosive episode.
“It was definitely daunting and definitely nerve-racking, but I was really excited and honored to get to do it,” Hewitt told TV Guide of the experience. However, the show’s other executive producers Kim Moses and Ian Sander, knew they left the milestone episode in the right hands.
“When we started talking about the 100th episode and that we wanted it to be special … it seemed like a natural to have her direct it,” Sander said.
This is actually the third time Hewitt has gone behind the lens for the show, but her previous experience didn’t make directing this episode mundane. The show, which airs Friday, is action packed.
Melinda gets word from a ghostly source that a bomb has gotten into the wrong hands and its aftermath means the end of the road for a major character.
“There are some big explosions in the episode which are really fun. I had never done those before as a director or as an actor,” Hewitt said. She warns about the major twist, “The death means possible deaths for others.”
On a lighter note, after 100 episodes, the actress says she’s learned a lot from her show about life and death.
Hewitt recently told ‘Entertainment Tonight’, “It’s really taught me that people should live their lives not to have unfinished business, because we don’t know if we’re going to get lucky enough to meet a Melinda Gordon.”
