Wisteria Lane’s welcome wagon could use a bit of grease.

The three most recent additions to the ‘Desperate Housewives‘ ensemble might all be gone come next season, leaving the ABC dramedy to again lean on its core quartet of ladies: Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria Parker.

Who is definitely, absopositivalutely leaving? You can go ahead and book a bon voyage party for Drea de Matteo, whose Angie Bolen will figure into an “explosive” season finale that effectively seals the sketchy character’s fate.

That particular exit, however, was always the plan. “Part of the deal when we hired Drea was she was only interested in doing one season,” ‘Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry tells EW.com.

Despite De Matteo’s popularity from ‘The Sopranos,’ her ‘Housewives’ alter ego has been maddeningly mired by a dark secret that steadfastly refuses to come to light. Cherry, though, says that upon that the arrival of a shady stranger played by ‘Torchwood’s John Barrowman, “all the mysterious parts of her past will be revealed.”

And then you have Katherine Mayfair and Robin-the-reformed-stripper – Fairview’s newest, unlikeliest, and quite possibly doomed coupling. One or perhaps both of those ladies could be MIA come fall, seeing as Dana Delany is being eyed to front the ABC drama pilot ‘Body of Evidence,’ while ‘Dexter’ alumna Julie Benz already has been cast opposite Michael Chiklis (‘The Shield’) on the ABC pilot ‘No Ordinary Family.’

An Emmy winner from her tour of duty on ‘China Beach,’ Delany has been woefully underserved on ‘Housewives,’ where after a tepid introduction (complete with her own Newcomer’s Mysterious Past) she segued into jilted stalker mode.

Benz, on the flip side, has nearly overcome the stereotypical staples of her stripper character to deliver a portrayal that livens up the increasingly staid world of Wisteria Lane.

Which of these three actresses would you prefer to see stay put on ‘Housewives’? And which character, in your opinion, has indeed overstayed her welcome?
