‘Survivor’ Power Rankings – ‘Survivor: Gabon’s’ Charlie Herschel

by | March 3, 2010 at 7:10 PM | Survivor, TV News

The road to Power Rankings redemption is not without peril. It’s littered not only with former “Survivor” champions like Natalie White and Tina Wesson but with former “Survivor” Power Rankings champions like Gabon’s Onion alliance kingpin Charlie Herschel…

Holmes vs. Herschel II is upon us. Bring it.

The Rules: Each week a member of our “Survivor” All-Star team and your beloved “Survivor” recapped Gordon “Truth Seeker” Holmes will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of that Thursday’s episode will determine the number of points the two combatants will earn. For example, if Jerri is voted out this week, Fancast’s “Survivor” All-Star Team will receive 2 points and Gordon will receive 8 points. At the end of the season, the person (or team) with the most points will be named the “Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains” Power Rankings Challenge Champion.

Last Week: Randy doesn’t look as good in a skimpy bikini as Parvati does, so he was sent home. This earned the “Survivor” All Star Team eighteen points while Gordon scored only twelve points.

So, before we dive into this much anticipated rematch, let’s see what Mr. Herschel has been up to since we saw him last…

Gordon Holmes: Winning the “Survivor” Power Rankings is quite a prestigious accomplishment. How has your life changed since your victory?
Charlie Herschel:
Thanks to winning the first season of “Survivor” Power Rankings, I got a boyfriend, I got my own window office at work, and I completed my first triathlon.
Holmes: That’s awesome. Always good to hear the Power Rankings are bringing people together.
Herschel: Gordon, how has life changed since you were crowned Loser Ranker?
Holmes: Not great. The friends that still do talk to me won’t look me in the eye.

Holmes: How are you feeling about “Heroes Vs. Villains” so far?
Herschel:
Even though Eliza Orlins isn’t playing this time, “Heroes Vs. Villains” is awesome.
Holmes: I love me some Eliza, but that might be Micronesia overload. And what tribe would you even put her on?
Herschel: Eliza would be such a villain. She would do anything to win “Survivor,” all with a vampy eye roll.

Holmes: Was it rough to see two Gabon players booted so quickly?
Herschel:
I’m glad that Sugar was accurately portrayed this time and sad that Randy didn’t go further. I thought he would have done better as a non-threat.

Charlie Herschel’s Picks
All-Star Team’s Current Score: 21

tyson #1 Tyson: Tyson is the only intelligent person out there besides Candice. Although I am not sure he has enough control over the game right now, I feel like his smarts matched with a less cocky attitude this time around will ride Tyson to the end.
jerri #2 Jerri: Love love love love love love love love. I don’t even remember why she is a villain. I want to be her best friend. Love love love.
cirie #3 Cirie: My #1 favorite “Survivor” ever. I’m not worried that she doesn’t seem to have a super strong alliance yet, because that didn’t pose a problem for her early game the last two times.
bostonrob #4 Boston Rob: I hope this guy goes far so he can lose the 40 pounds he has gained since his last season for Amber’s sake. Why is he shirtless in all of his confessionals? It’s gross.
parvati #5 Parvati: Although I’m on team Bitter Cougar, I still dig Parvati and I would totally fall for her shtick out there too.
russell(2) #6 Russell: I’m impressed by Russell.
candice #7 Candice: As one of the only smart people out there, I wish she had stronger alliances. She reeks of mid-game. I think her paranoia is endearing.
sandra #8 Sandra: Sandra cracks me up, but hasn’t seemed to do much yet.
courtney #9 Courtney: Apparently Randy was voted off because he was weaker than paper-thin Courtney?! Maybe someone is looking out for her, but I don’t see a Todd in the group who is willing to drive Courtney to the end.
danielle #10 Danielle: Danielle needs to lighten up and ditch the tacky accent.
rupert #11 Rupert: Rupert’s constant baby voice and the tie dye are way too much for me.
amanda #12 Amanda: Snoozers galore. Why is she on this season? Why was she on ANY season?
coach #13 Coach: I really like this guy in real life A LOT. Not such a fan on the show. Coach comes off as clueless, delusional, and crazy. He will be used and abused and look like a total tool all the way to the end again.
#14 James: Obviously James isn’t playing the game – he is saying whatever is on the top of his mind and doing whatever he pleases. Stupid! That won’t work, thank God.
colby #15 Colby: I recall Colby being boring TV, but I actually am rooting for him. He’s so charming and seems like the voice of reason. Colby’s resistance to faking it will make it hard for him to go far…especially since he only seems to have an alliance of two.
tom #16 Tom: Tom is not in a good position on his tribe AT ALL. Gunning for Cirie in Episode 1 and then begging for Cirie’s loyalty in Episode 2? BAD! Defending Stephenie to a tribe that almost unanimously wants her gone for no strategic reason? DUMB.
jt #17 JT: And what does JT add to this game? This is a wishful thinking ranking.

Gordon Holmes’s Picks
Gordon’s Current Score: 27

jt #1 JT: So, JT stirs some trouble up between Candice and Cirie and nobody on the Heroes tribe rats him out? He’s super safe.
bostonrob #2 Boston Rob: In a normal season Boston Rob would be good until at least the merge. He makes fire, he builds shelter, he’s a monster in challenges. But, I can’t shake the feeling that Russell might try to boot him just so he can say that he did.
coach #3 Coach: I think there’s a hierarchy in the Villains tribe right now with Boston Rob at the top, Coach being Rob’s buddy, and Russell trying to play the good soldier. Watch out for these three.
colby #4 Colby: The Colbster (always hated that nickname) is in an interesting spot. Last week proved that the Heroes can destroy the Villains in any strength competition. I think they’ll want to keep that going for a while.
danielle #5 Danielle: My big fear going into this season was that a non all-star would win the whole thing. No offense to Boston Rob’s wife, but Amber had no business being an all-star and her winning always tainted the “All Stars” season for me. Right now, Danielle’s making a strong run at being Amber 2.0.
#6 James: Felt a little uneasy watching James chuck the bag at poor Randy after he decimated him last week. James is on a mission, the question is, how long will the Heroes put up with it?
tyson #7 Tyson: Did you see Tyson kiss JT after they faced off in the challenge? Is it crazy to think there could be a Tocantins alliance between Coach, Tyson, and JT? Courtney’s close with the Tocantins cast, she could join up too…
jerri #8 Jerri: There’s so much animosity between Jerri and Parvati. What’s the difference between the two? Nobody is afraid of Jerri.
amanda #9 Amanda: I’m not much of an Amanda fan, but I’ll give her credit for bringing it during last week’s challenge. However, I can’t help but feel like she’s clinging to James, which might not be a good move with the bridges he’s burning.
russell(2) #10 Russell: Did Russell save Parvati last week? If so, what kind of pull does he have within the Villains tribe? Can he do it again this week? How soon until they feel the need to separate them? I don’t know. What I do know is when this season is over I want a Russell/Coach/Boston Rob sitcom.
tom #11 Tom: Maybe as a former winner Tom doesn’t feel the need to shy away when someone’s out of line. That kind of play may get him voted out, but it’s admirable.
parvati #12 Parvati: They know she’s dangerous, she’s not much help in challenges, and she doesn’t do anything around camp. Unless Russell is saving her, why are they keeping her around? Is it the bikini?
rupert #13 Rupert: If Stephenie is to be believed, the Heroes aren’t super fond of Rupert right now. If the Heroes think they’re strong enough in challenges, Rupert could be the next to go.
courtney #14 Courtney: Courtney seems to get along well with the rest of the Villains peeps, but if they ever decide to beef up for challenges, she could be in trouble.
candice #15 Candice: Candice sure does seem to be the odd person out on the Heroes tribe. Cirie was her last ally, and that seems to be out the window.
cirie #16 Cirie: Just because the Heroes seem to be turning on Candice doesn’t make Cirie safe. If they want to stay strong for challenges and dismantle the Micronesia alliance Cirie could be next.
sandra #17 Sandra: Really, what was the point of calling Coach out at tribal council? I think that move could come back to bite her the next time the Villains lose immunity.
